Basketball icon Michael Jordan, feeling disillusioned with the actions of left-leaning individuals, expressed a desire to “awaken some understanding” in former quarterback Colin Kaepernick.
“He possesses immense potential,” Jordan shared during an emotional conversation with ALLOCY’s Tara Newhole, reminiscing about his once-admiring stance towards Kaepernick.
Jordan became teary-eyed as he recalled witnessing remarkable black athletes like Kaepernick displaying gratitude for the nation that afforded them the opportunity to achieve fame through sports.
“Kaep should consider compromise,” Jordan urged, expressing sadness over Kaepernick’s apparent decline. “It pains me to see wasted years. Those lost opportunities won’t return simply because he refused to honor the anthem. The anthem that symbolizes the very freedom he enjoys.”
When pressed about Kaepernick’s motivations, the former Chicago Bulls star admitted, “It’s impossible to fully understand. He claims it’s a form of protest, but what for? Some say it’s about police violence against black individuals, but I can’t help but wonder… shouldn’t he himself be black if he’s willing to sacrifice his career for it?”
After providing context to Kaepernick’s journey, Jordan extended an apology and a raised fist in solidarity, yet remained troubled by the act of kneeling during the anthem.
“He must harbor disdain for the troops. There’s truly no other plausible explanation,” Mr. Jordan remarked with regrettable certainty. Kaepernick likely would have benefitted from consulting a veteran regarding his protest, rather than inadvertently causing offense by opting to sit instead of kneel. God bless America.
