Everyone was taken aback when they discovered why a dog suddenly and unexpectedly started rushing alongside the bus as it was on its regular route.
It took the same path each morning. Line 318 is the yellow bus. The driver was a composed individual who consistently arrived on time. There was no traffic or mayhem as the route wound through vast fields, straight and peaceful. Most of the passengers were the same: some were heading to work, some were running errands in town, and some were just taking in the scenery and enjoying the journey.
It was all the same. Soft music was playing on the radio, and the driver’s face seemed comfortable. The morning was clear and the sun was shining. While some people fell asleep, others engaged in idle conversation or browsed the news on their phones.
Then, as though out of thin air, a dog leaped onto the road.
A large, shaggy, golden retriever with brilliant fur and amazing speed. In an attempt to attract attention, it began zigzagging after first running parallel to the bus. Its tongue stretched out to the side, and its ears flapped.
The bus sprang to life. Someone leaped to their feet. One of the young men beside the window took out his phone and began to record. A woman wearing spectacles chuckled:
— See! There’s a race going on!
“Perhaps it lost someone,” one old man said.
However, there was something strange about it.
The dog suddenly accelerated and passed the bus at a dizzying rate. It came to a halt in the middle of the road and began growling and barking. The driver’s only option was to use the brakes firmly. The bus shook and came to a stop as the tires squealed.
— What is going on?
Why is it behaving in such an odd way?
“We can’t get past it!” someone yelled.
A few individuals disembarked when the doors opened and approached the dog gingerly. The thing didn’t flee or move. It merely gazed at them while standing there.
Then a horrible incident occurred, and the travelers understood why the dog had behaved in such an odd way.
Then — BOOOM!
An ear-splitting blast. The ground trembled as the bus was blasted into the air. Windows broke and flames erupted. Those who got off to visit the dog made it out alive. Startle. yells. A person fell on their knees. Someone put their hands over their mouth.
They had been on the verge of dying.
Furthermore, the dog didn’t run. As though it had known, it sat there.
With shaking hands, the driver got to his feet, took out his phone, glanced over the debris, and muttered:
– It kept us alive. However, from what? This was done by whom?
To identify the culprits and determine how the dog had learned, the authorities opened an inquiry.
