Simon Cowell, the 60-year-old X-Factor judge and business magnate, surprised viewers when he broke down in tears on live
television after a heartfelt charity single performance. The emotional moment left fans deeply concerned.
The touching song was performed to raise funds for two organizations Simon deeply supports: Together for Short Lives and Shooting Star, both dedicated to providing palliative care and support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families.
Host Dermot O’Leary gently prompted Simon for his thoughts, saying, “I know how much these organizations mean to you, Simon. Do you have anything to say?” Overwhelmed with emotion, Simon covered his face, managed to whisper “Oh God,” and broke down crying.
Rushing to comfort him, Simon’s fiancée Lauren Silverman embraced him on stage, while his co-star Nicole Scherzinger also tried to console him. Meanwhile, Louis Walsh stood silently, visibly bewildered by the moment.

Sensing Simon’s struggle, Dermot quickly redirected the cameras and assured him, “You don’t need to say anything more, Simon. Thank you.”
The performance moved not only Simon but also many viewers to tears. Proceeds from the charity single will benefit the two organizations. Shooting Star provides hospice care for children facing life-limiting illnesses, while Together for Short Lives supports families coping with the loss of a child due to an incurable condition.
Simon’s emotional response highlighted his long-standing commitment to these causes. As a patron of Together for Short Lives since 2009, Simon has consistently used his platform to champion philanthropic work, particularly for children and animals.
