Raquel Welch, born Jo Raquel Tejada on September 5th, 1940, had been born to the world. Both her father was a Bolivian engineer and her mother’s parents had English ancestry. Welch was only two years old when the family moved from Illinois to San Diego.
Interestingly enough, Lidia Gueiler Tejada, Welch’s cousin, was the first female president of Bolivia. Clearly, Tejada talent is in the family! As a child, Welch attended church with her mother and took an interest in performing.
