Americas most beloved family have been involved in a fatal plane crash on route to a concert

A tragic plane crash claimed the lives of seven members of a beloved gospel family, leaving a community in mourning. Among the victims were a husband and wife, their daughter, son-in-law, family worker, and the pilot and his wife. The only survivor, Autumn, was left to process the loss of her family and released a heartfelt statement expressing both her grief and gratitude for the outpouring of prayers and support.

The group was en route to Alaska for the Gaither Homecoming Cruise when the plane went down in Wyoming. Witnesses reported seeing the plane crash in flames, and despite efforts from emergency responders, there were no survivors.

The family was inducted into the Gospel Music Association Hall of Fame in 2016, celebrated for their iconic contributions to gospel  music, including timeless songs like “I Shall Not Be Moved” and “Come Morning.”

Autumn thanked those who supported her during this devastating time. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the cause of the crash. This tragedy has left a lasting void in the gospel music community, where the Nelons will forever be remembered for their significant influence on the genre.
