When she begins to play the piano, it’s clear that music is in her soul. By nine, she was an accomplished pianist, celebrated with numerous awards and sharing stages with respected orchestras.
Klára Gibišová has performed at prestigious venues, including a remarkable show at St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague. Although the audience’s applause is rewarding, she often waits for her teacher’s feedback to know if her performance met the mark.
“I wait to hear from my teacher if it was good because sometimes I can’t quite tell,” says Klára.
She first touched a piano at just three years old, picking out tunes by ear without reading notes. “I remember playing *The Cat Climbing Through the Hole* with just one finger,” she recalls.
By five, she was performing in concerts, though she needed help just to reach the piano bench. Her audiences were captivated by her passionate playing.
Klára began formal piano training around age seven, initially learning pieces by listening to recordings from lessons. “We used to record the sessions so I could practice at home. Only recently did I start reading music,” she explains.
The joy of learning new pieces keeps her motivated. “Most of the time, my teacher selects the pieces, but sometimes she gives me options to choose from. I love the fast ones the most,” she says.
