The world lost a genuinely amazing person who was doing what he loved when he passed away suddenly at the age of 44.Now, more than ten years later, his wife Terri Irwin has revealed something that would surprise some people: Steve once confided in her.
Terri recently discussed Steve’s outlook on life and death in an interview with the Australian television show “Anh’s Brush With Fame.”He never thought he would live a long life. When asked about Steve’s untimely demise, Terri disclosed, “He always had this sense that his time would be cut short.”Unfortunately, Steve’s prediction came true.
He was killed by a stingray’s barb while filming “Ocean’s Deadliest” in Queensland, Australia.Terri recalled experiencing enormous grief and a strong sense of responsibility when she first heard of her husband’s death.
“All I can recall is being overcome with grief and wondering, ‘What do I do next?’” Before I went out to the car to inform Bindi and Robert, I had to collect myself, which was really tough,” Terri recalled.Terri was shocked by the global outpouring of solidarity following Steve’s passing.”The amount of love and sorrow that individuals exhibited would have shocked Steve.
The word “famous” was not one he connected with himself. Terri thought, “He stayed modest and committed to protecting wildlife.”As word of Steve’s departure spread throughout the world, condolences and tributes poured in.
