Today, a Nickelodeon celebrity passed away at a Manhattan hospital.

Her age was seventy-two. There was no legend in the animation industry like Janice Burgess.

Positive comments have been made regarding the scriptwriter, who is best known for creating The Backyardigans on Nickelodeon.

Fracaswell Hyman, a writer and producer, commended Burgess’s sharp humor.

He posted on Instagram, “I was the head writer on Gullah Gullah Island and I met Janice Burgess early in my career when she was assigned to be our Executive in Charge of Production.”

To make sure the money doesn’t go to waste, they send this individual to the set.

“Janice came in smoking a lot of cigarettes, flowing Hermes scarves, and a sharp tongue.”

“She became a friend instead of a boss.”

“She made sure I was in the room and considered for many of the shows that came my way, including Little Bill and Taina, and recognized my magic before I did.”

Hyman found Burgess’s commentary on the stories to be astute, understandable, and beneficial.

He expressed to her how much he would miss her.

Burgess’ precise cause of death is still unknown.

Only a few days after turning seventy-two, she passed away.

Pennsylvania native Burgess joined Nickelodeon in 1995 as corporate head of production. In 2004, she was also employed as a story editor for the adventure series Winx Club.

According to Nick Jr., she claimed that her childhood backyard served as the inspiration for the Backyardigans.

She joked about how she used to think they were hunting wild creatures while playing hide-and-seek with her buddies.

A flurry of fans came up to pay their respects to Burgess.

“She invented the Backyardigans?” That was in my early years. “I loved her so much,” remarked one person.

“This is a huge loss… The Backyardigans was – and still is – one of my most remarkable childhood memories,” one mourner posted.

“She made a significant contribution to my life.”

“We can never express how appreciative we are to Janice for creating The Backyardigans, Gullah Gullah Island, and sharing her life with us. We all really will miss you! A third fan exclaimed, “Fly high!”
