Ana Navarro’s comment on The View suggesting that U.S. citizens could be deported alongside undocumented family members sparked a backlash from former ICE Acting Director Tom Homan. He clarified that U.S. citizens cannot be deported under immigration law, as deportation only applies to non-citizens. Homan criticized Navarro’s remarks as uninformed, emphasizing that family separations involve undocumented individuals leaving, not U.S. citizens being forcibly deported. While mixed-status families may face tough decisions, deportation laws only apply to non-citizens, not American citizens. This exchange highlights the need for clear understanding of immigration policies.
